Hey Reader,
I don't know about you, but it feels like summer just started. I blinked, and suddenly it's back-to-school season!
Parents are crossing their fingers that their child loves their teacher and has a familiar friend in class. Teachers are busy preparing classrooms, lesson plans, and supplies and hoping it lasts past October. And the kids? Some are excited, some are nervous, and some are mostly concerned about lunch. A new school year is a fresh start for everyone, and with every fresh start comes a little excitement, a few butterflies, and the reminder that it's okay to feel both at the same time. ✏️🍎😊
On a personal note, this summer has held a little bit of everything. I've enjoyed some relaxing afternoons at the pool, slowly made a dent in my TBR book list, and caught up with friends. At the same time, our family has been navigating some significant health challenges with loved ones, which has been a reminder that life is precious and frequently unpredictable.
But can we talk about school supplies for a minute?
I know they're technically for the kids, but if I'm being honest, I'm way too excited about fresh notebooks, crisp paper, colorful folders, and pens that glide perfectly across the page. There is something magical about them😂! I am convinced that buying new pens still gives adults the same thrill it did when we were eight years old.
So tell me: What do you love most about back-to-school season?
Is it the fresh start? The routines? Football? The feel of new crayons? The smell of new pumpkin spice? The first-day photos? I'd love to hear what brings you joy this time of year. Just hit reply and tell me (I REALLY mean it!)
The calendars fill up quickly this time of year. School, sports, activities, work, appointments, and all the things that seem to multiply overnight. It's TRUE: The days are long, but the years are short!
My friendly reminder? Slow down when you can.
Savor the conversation in the car. Take the picture~ even if you look like you just rolled out of bed. Stop for the ice cream. Laugh at the silly story. Make the memory.
Years from now, your family won't remember the perfectly organized calendar. They'll remember how they felt when you were together.
Speaking of making memories...
📍 There is still time to plan a getaway this year!
Whether you're dreaming of a magical Fall Break, a Thanksgiving escape, or a Christmas vacation filled with unforgettable moments, there are still opportunities available.
Disney Families: Kids under 10 are currently eligible for a free dining promotion, but that offer is only available through the end of this year and has not been renewed for 2027. If you've been considering a Disney trip, now may be the perfect time to make it happen.
🚢 Cruise Lovers: While availability is becoming limited on many sailings, there are still some fantastic deals available. Some cruise lines are even offering Kids Sail Free or double loyalty points on select sailings, making it a great time to maximize your vacation value while earning future rewards.
🏝️Beach Lovers: All-Inclusive Resorts have so much to offer. Sandals & Beaches are offering some great pricing for their resorts as they gear up to re-open ALL of their resorts in Jamaica (promotions include all islands).
The truth is, schedules get busier, kids grow taller, and the years move faster than we expect. The good news is that there is still time to create those memory-making moments before the year slips away.
As always, if I can help you plan your next adventure, I'd love to be part of it.
Wishing your family a wonderful school year filled with growth, laughter, learning, and just enough fresh pens to keep everyone happy.
Until next time,
Rix
P.S. If anyone has discovered a cure for my inability to walk past a display of brand-new fine point colored pens without buying one, please let me know. My office supplies budget would greatly appreciate it.

One of the most frequent questions asked "Do you only book Disney"~ NO! I book much more than Disney!
